Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born on 10 July 1980, is an American actor, singer businesswoman, philanthropist and entrepreneur. Simpson signed with Columbia Records at the age of 17 having been a member of the church choir as a young girl. Sweet Kisses, her first studio album, came out in 1999. It was a huge success, selling two million copies in the United States. She also was a commercial hit through the single "I Wanna Love You Forever". Simpson decided to adopt a more mature image for her sophomore studio album, Irresistible (2001), and the title track became her second top 20 entry on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This Skin (2003), Simpson's third studio album, was sold to three million copies across the United States. Simpson was well-known for her relationship with Nick Lachey and her marriage to Nick Lachey. Simpson also appeared on MTV's reality television series Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica between 2003 and. Following the release of her first Christmas album ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004), which was certified gold, Simpson made her film debut as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). The soundtrack of the film also included the cover song "These Boots are Made for Walkin'". Simpson dropped her fifth studio album A Public Affair in 2006 as well as appearing in the romantic comedy movie Employee of the Month. With the release her sixth studio album Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved into the country genre. Apart from her music career, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, which was a fashion-driven line with 34 product categories. It's the most profitable licensed brand for celebrities in history with more than $1 billion in sales as of today. In 2010, she was a star on the reality television show The Price of Beauty. She also judged fashion shows during Fashion Star's two seasons, which ran from 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson with whom she has three kids.
