Dolly-Parton
Born on Jan. 19 1946 Locust Ridge Tenn into a poor family that would eventually consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of life by using her vivid and far-ranging imagination. Her songs were written before she could write or read. In the year she turned 8, she got the first electric guitar she owned and started singing at a Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The following year, she made her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. In high school she made herself known to the community, but her ambition was bigger. The day she graduated from high school, it was 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart on Monument Records. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his syndicated television show. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry.
